About us
backRaiffeisen Banka d.d is a modern full-service bank with professional and financial support provided by Raiffeisen financial group, one of the leading banking groups in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Bank, established in 1992 as Krekova Bank, joined in 2002 with a foreign strategic partner, Raiffeisen International. By purchasing 97.05% of the shares, the latter became a majority shareholder of the former Krekova Bank, which changed its name to Raiffeisen Krekova Bank d.d. at the time of acquisition. Like most of the other banks in the Raiffeisen Group, it was renamed Raiffeisen Banka d.d. in 2007.
In the past decade, Raiffeisen Banka d.d. has pushed up into tenth position in Slovenia. At the end of 2007, it held a 2.85-percent market share.
A Small Bank in a Big Family
The relatively small size of the Bank is one of its advantages, since it can adapt much faster to changes in the financial market and provide a more personal approach for its customers. At the same time, being part of Raiffeisen financial group means ample funds are available to the Bank as well as security of operation and know-how, based on over 100 years of experience and knowledge of local markets.
Raiffeisen Zentralbank Group (RZB) is one of the leading financial groups in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its establishment in 1927, it has developed a respected network in Europe through its visionary and well-thought-out strategy.
RZB Group and its banks have received over the past several years a number of prestigious awards, confirming, in addition to customer satisfaction, high standards and successful business performance.
In 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, RZB received the Best Bank award in Central and Eastern Europe, and it has been chosen several times as the best bank in internet banking. In 2006, Herbert Stepic, CEO of Raiffeisen International and Supervisory Board Member of Raiffeisen Banka d.d. received the European Banker of the Year award. In 2007, he was also awarded by the European Business Press the prestigious "European Manager of the Year" title.
Security Under a Shared Roof
Raiffeisen bank’s distinctive logo consists of two crossed horse heads on a yellow background, symbolising security under the same roof following an old custom. The gable cross attached to the roof gable of houses was thought to protect their inhabitants against all outside dangers. The symbol can still be seen today on many countryside houses in Northern Europe and elsewhere in the world.
