Corporate Responsibility

Raiffeisen Banka d.d. is aware of its corporate responsibility towards the community in which it operates. As a pan-Slovenian bank, it takes an active role, together with foreign shareholders, in local community projects and allocates money raised through sponsorship or donations to the development of culture, sport and charitable projects. By achieving success together, we focus on personality, recognition and reputation of individuals and institutions in Slovenia as well as promotion of our country beyond its borders.

Culture

We remain faithful to Maribor and its citizens, as demonstrated by our cooperation with two major cultural institutions in the city, the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor, improving its programme every year and taking care, through its activities beyond Slovenia’s borders, of better promotion of the country. The Lent Festival has, for over a decade, transformed the capital city of Styria in summer into a colourful cultural site, a place visited not only by citizens of Maribor but also by people from all over Slovenia and abroad. We also actively cooperate with the Maribor National Liberation Museum, where we support as general sponsor the "Maribor and the European Union" project.

Sport

In spite of its small size, Slovenia has excellent athletes distinguished by their achievements. Perseverance, discipline, dedication, quality and strong will are the values we seek not only in our staff but also in the sports projects we support. In the past two years we have sponsored the Helios Domžale Basketball Club, Slovenian National Champion and Cup Winner in the 2006/2007 season and the Trimo Trebnje Handball Club, who have been at the very top of the Slovenian handball for quite some time. In tennis, we support the international Radenska Open tournament in Maribor and in 2007 we organised for the first time the Raiffeisen Open tournament for juniors. Recently, a three-year sponsorship agreement has been signed with Rok Flander, world snowboard champion.

Humanitarian and Social Activities

With a desire to provide a better and higher quality life to individuals, we also focus on social activities. We cooperate with the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance, with the Slomšek Institution, with Benka Pulko in her projects, and with SONČEK, the Cerebral Palsy Association of Slovenia. We assist through donations a number of associations trying to improve the quality of life of individuals and specific groups of people.

Of course, we do not forget our staff and provide them with assistance in their own activities.
