2010 In January, the third Rok Flander Snowboard Show was held under the auspices of Raiffeisen Bank, and the Raiffeisen Capital Management funds received the Golden V 2010 Award.
In March, Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG published that a consolidated profit amounting to EUR 212 million was recorded in 2009, while RZB and Raiffeisen International confirmed their readiness of continuing the merger process.
In April, we presented our mutual fund offer at the KAPITAL 2010 fair. The Global Finance magazine again selected Raiffeisen as the best bank in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The RZB Group published by 38 percent higher profit in 2009. At the end of April, RZB and Raiffeisen International agreed on the details of the planned merger process. The employees of the Raiffeisen Bank marked the World Book Day with a charity campaign of collecting books for children, young people and adults.
In May, our offer was supplemented by a Payment Package which combines the services of regular transaction account, while also providing for free payment of money orders at the teller window and via the RaiffeisenNET electronic bank as well as free execution of standing orders and direct debits. The RZB employees helped the people on Haiti by donating them EUR 92,249. In the first quarter, the consolidated profit of Raiffeisen International increased to 100 million euros.
In June, as one of the first banks in Slovenia, we started to offer our customers the e-Account service, and we were also the general sponsor of the XV. meeting of economists from the Primorska region. At that time, we were also the traditional supporter of Lent Festival, which became of the important international summer festivals in this part of Europe. There, we presented our offer for the youngest within the activities at the Art Camp and the Park of Experience, where children also collected toys within the Donate a Toy, Create Joy! Campaign. In addition, we organised a prize competition at which the most creative, fun and original summer postcard was selected.
In July, the shareholders of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG (RZB) unanimously approved the spin-off and merger with the subsidiary Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG, and the merger was also approved at the Raiffeisen International annual general meeting. Johannes Schuster joined the Supervisory Board of RZB. Euromoney declared RZB as “the best bank in Austria”.
In the first half-year of 2010, the Raiffeisen International Company and the RZB Group more than doubled their consolidated profit.
In September, we presented ourselves at the 43rd International Trade Fair (MOS). We also enriched the savings offer for children and, in addition to the children’s savings account Maxi, also offered them Maxi saving in funds. In cooperation with Raiffeisen Capital Management, the tender for finanzissimo'10 - the award for the best financial reporting was published for the second time in Slovenia.
In October, the Allianz RCM Europe Equity Growth fund was ranked number 1 by its one-, three- and five-year performance according to the Morningstar’s rating system of funds for Europe and based on the growth investment policy.
2009 In January, many new features were introduced to the online bank RaiffeisenNET, and at the Golden V 2009 awards the RCM Global Mix managed by Raiffeisen Capital Management received the award for the best mutual fund in 2008 in the category One year – Global mixed.
In February, the campaign ‘It’s Easy to Get a Vignette' was successfully completed. With the consent of the Supervisory Board, the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank increased the bank's share capital.
In March, we implemented a new method of calculating commissions for foreign payment transactions in order to make foreign transactions more efficient and transparent. We also organised ‘The Hour of Story-telling on Stage Art’ with two famous Slovenian actors for children and youth. At the conclusion of the ‘Help&Win!’ charity campaign with our top athlete Rok Flander, we presented a donation cheque to the representatives of the Help for Children with Cancer Institute.
In April and May, Raiffeisen International was the main official sponsor of the Ice Hockey World Championship in Switzerland.
In May, the Raiffeisen Open 2009 International Tennis Tournament was organised, while Raiffeisen Bank began to market the Raiffeisen Loan Package. Raiffeisen Kapitalanlage-Gesellschaft m.b.H. Vienna started to market the Raiffeisen-Osteuropa-Rent fund in Slovenia. In addition, the funds of Allianz Global Investors started to be marketed in Slovenia in cooperation with Raiffeisen Bank.
In June, we sponsored the XIV. meeting of economists from the Primorska region. We presented a new favourable form of saving for the young ones – Maxi Saving.
In July Raiffeisen International increased its share capital. The Raiffeisen Bank General Meeting was held in Maribor, at which the operations for 2008 were approved which the bank ended with the net profit amounting to EUR 2.922 million. At the end of the month we expanded our offer with a savings account.
In August, Raiffeisen International presented the operating result which increased by 4 percent, while profit after tax amounted to EUR 119 million. We also expanded our offer for the investors and began to market the Deka Investmentfonds Company investment funds.
In September, the modern banking services were also made available to the citizens of Skoke in the Municipality of Miklavž na Dravskem polju.
In October, the opening of the new Raiffeisen Bank head office on Zagrebška cesta 76 in Maribor was organised, solidifying the bank’s presence in Slovenia.
In November, new General Terms and Conditions of Transaction Account Management began to apply which are from now on called General Terms and Conditions for Performing Payment Services. The Raiffeisen Bank branch office in Šoštanj was relocated to a new address to more modern premises.
In December, the bank’s Christmas and New Year donation was made to the Crisis Centre for Youth in Maribor.
2008 In January, Raiffeisen Banka d.d. joined 4,000 banks in Europe that provide payment processing according to the SEPA scheme for their customers.
In March, Sonček - the Cerebral Palsy Association of Slovenia renovated a house in Vrtiče with the help of Raiffeisen Bank.
In spring, Raiffeisen was granted the award for the best bank in the Central and Eastern Europe.
A few months later, in July, it also received the Award for Excellence from the renowned British financial magazine Euromoney. Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG (RZB) and its subsidiary Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG were declared the “Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe”.
In August, Raiffeisen International defied the global financial market crisis with record results.
In the beginning of autumn we opened a renovated Raiffeisen Bank branch office in Koper. Raiffeisen International was the sponsor of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
In November, Raiffeisen Bank opened a new branch office in the Celje Technology Park.
In December, Raiffeisen Bank supported the release of the new album by Alenka Godec and awarded the finanzissimo '08 Award.
2007 In January, successful completion of the euro changeover process.
In March, Zoran Nemec, Chairman of the Board, left the Bank. Klemens Nowotny, Vice-chairman of the Board, took over the Bank’s management.
In May, we refurbished our Bank’s oldest branch at Slomškov trg in Maribor in compliance with the latest banking standards.
At the beginning of July, three new funds, namely Raiffeisen-Europa-SmallCap, Raiffeisen-TopDividende-Aktien and Raiffeisen-A.R.-Emerging-Markets were added to seventeen funds managed by Raiffeisen Capital Management (RCM) and marketed in Slovenia.
At the end of July, the Kranj branch was moved to a new location at Nazorjeva 3.
In August, opening of the refurbished Murska Sobota outlet.
In September, opening of the refurbished outlet at Linhartova cesta in Ljubljana. Raiffeisen Krekova Banka changed its name to Raiffeisen Banka d.d.
In October, Gvido Jemenšek, MSc., became a Member of the Board and Klemens Nowotny was appointed its Chairman. The range of investment funds was expanded by a new Raiffeisen-Emerging Europe-SmallCap fund.
In November, opening of the refurbished Nova Gorica outlet.
2006 In March we launched five New RCM Funds - four equity funds: Raiffeisen-Energy-Equities, Raiffeisen-HealthCare-Equities, Raiffeisen-Pacific-Equities, Raiffeisen-EmergingMarkets-Equities and Raiffeisen-Euro-Liquid as a money market fund.
In May our branch in Novo mesto moved to new premises at Rozmanova ulica 16.
In August we opened a new branch at Planet Tuš shopping centre in Studenci in Maribor. The branch layout meets modern banking standards as well.
In September we launched two new funds - Raiffeisen-TopSelection-Garantiefonds, the first guarantee RCM fund of funds available to the Slovenian investors and Raiffeisen-A.R-Global-Balanced, a fund intended for more cautious investors.
In November we launched CECExt Winner guarantee certificate and SBI TOP index certificate in cooperation with Raiffeisen Centrobank. Investment Certificates Available for the First Time in the Slovenian Market.
2005 In September we started marketing insurance services, from the Uniqa insurance group, in four offices of the bank (pilot part of the project).
In July Zoran Nemec became the new chairman of the board.
In June we successfully completed an increased capitalization of the bank.
2004 In September we started marketing Raiffeisen Capital Management funds in all offices of the bank, at the Maribor Investment Centre (Slovenska ul. 17) and at the Financial Centre Tivoli (Tivolska 30, Ljubljana). By 1st of January 2005 the funds acquired the status of qualified mutual funds which means they are equalized with Slovene mutual funds from the tax point of view.
In March we opened the Financial Centre Tivoli with the first open-type office (model branch), offering complete services for retail and the services of Raiffeisen Leasing under one roof. We introduced real-estate loans, insured by an insurance company. We offered the services of Raiffeisen Dom Kredit. These are loans approved directly at the point of sale.
In January we introduced a new Mobile banking service.
2003 In November we introduced Private Banking, a new service for investment banking.
In September we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Raiffeisen Krekova banka operations.
In June we acquired a license from the Bank of Slovenia for marketing derivatives. Because we wanted to strengthen the offer in regional centers we transferred the operations of three smaller offices of Raiffeisen Krekova banka in Zreče, Škofja Loka and Šmartno pri Litiji to the nearest larger offices (into Celje, Kranj and Ljubljana).
In April we introduced services as an intermediary for clients on foreign capital markets.
2002 18th of June the strategic partner from Austria, RIB Raiffeisen Internationalbeteiligungs AG, became a 97% owner of Krekova banka stock.
We started the process of introducing new transactional accounts for retail customers.
2001 We started a reorganisation of the bank.
We introduced a system of guardianship for legal entities.
2000 In March we acquired a seat on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and began to trade securities.
In January we acquired permission from the Agency for Securities Market and the Bank of Slovenia to perform all operations in connection with securities.
1999 In December we opened an office in Ptuj.
In January we began the process of a gradual introduction of the common European currency, the Euro, into our operations and offers. We adjusted computer support passing into the second millennium and introduced the Aktiva Maestro card enabling payment through POS terminals across Slovenia.
1998 In November we opened a business unit in Kranj. We achieved fourth place among 32 banks in Slovenia based on level of recognition.
We expanded the network of corespondent banks to 150 foreign banks in 25 countries.
We were included into the international Aktiva Eurocard card system.
1997 In October we brought issued the 2nd issue of debenture bonds for Krekova banka – KRB 2. We opened a business unit in Celje and an office in Šmartno pri Litiji. We became a fully authorized member of the international network SWIFT.
In May we opened a business unit in Škofja Loka. We were included into the Aktiva business card system, we expanded our offer to include a Student Account and Golden Cheque.
We built an extensive network of corespondent banks around the world (70 banks in 14 countries), we opened 28 accounts in 21 foreign banks in all of the more important currencies.
1996 In December we received permission from the Bank of Slovenia to independently perform all banking operations at home and abroad. We expanded our offer for residents to include Annuity Savings.
In August we brought out the 1st issue of debenture bonds for Krekova banka – KRB 1.
In June we opened the Ljubljana II office.
1995 In December we opened a business unit in Murska Sobota. We were included into the automatic teller machines (ATM) system network enabling the withdrawal of cash 24 hours a day.
In November we opened a business unit in Koper.
In August we brought out the 4th issue of shares for Krekova Banka.
In June we opened a business unit in Šoštanj.
1994 In November we opened a business unit in Nova Gorica.
In September we brought out the 3rd issue of shares for Krekova Banka.
In April we opened a business unit in Novo Mesto.
1993 In December we brought out the 2nd issue of shares for Krekova banka.
In September we opened an office in Zreče.
In June we opened a business unit Ljubljana and the Ljubljana I office.
In February we brought out the 1st issue of shares for Krekova banka.
In January the Bank of Slovenia issued a decree giving permission for the business of Krekova banka d.d. Maribor to perform banking business and other financial services. We opened our first office in Maribor.
1992 On the 16th of October we founded Vzajemna Krekova banka on the basis of the idea of Janez Evangelist Krek.
